Welcome to Yangzhong Foreign Language Primary School
First Buffet style lunch... First lunch with a student's parent.
This meal was the most delicious. We had lots of variety, our first hot pots in China, we also had cake and ice cream, and lots of fruit. The roasted fruit was my favorite. The pig heart was my least favorite. We gave the little girl with us an English name, Emily. The last picture is of my Chinese little nephew and Sister. Orange (Chun Xiang), and Starling (Lin Xin Chun). I helped him make his tower of cups.
After eating with Emily and her mom we went swimming! Our hotel has the nicest swimming pool in Yangzhong, so we decided we should use it while we could go for free. It was cold, but very fun.
Below is a picture of a festival they were having that day because a new Bank of China was opening. We didn't get to see much, but we heard the fireworks. The sound of fireworks has become very familiar. I hear them every day at anytime of day. They love to celebrate with fireworks. In fact I hear some out my door right now and it is 10:20 am. Basically anytime is a good time for fireworks in China! :) |

Fancy Restaurant
Tina and I decided to celebrate our arrival and go to a fancy restaurant. It was an interesting experience... the food didn't really taste that good, but it looked pretty! We also had a very attractive waiter that we made friends with... though he doesn't speak very much English.
